Poker TableOne of my first new purchases after moving into the new apartment was a sweet 10-person poker table from Dick’s Sporting Goods. Since it folds in half, it is ideal for road trips. Luckily for me, it fits perfectly into the back of my tC…I don’t think it would have fit into the ol’ camry.

First trip was to the Jason and Jessi’s place. The womenfolk were upstairs having a pampered chef party, which is pretty much the same as a Tupperware party but with Kitchen gadgets and some other stuff. That meant the men were downstairs in the garage playing poker.

Things started out fine - I won a few smalls pots but wasn’t picking up too many hands. I was up $2 or $3 at this point ($20 buy in with 10 and 20 cents blinds) when everything went downhill. I had AK vs Brandon’s AA but luckily I didn’t hit the hand at all and didn’t lose very much. Brandon ended up getting AA four times throughout the night, one time against Jason when they both had AA and split the pot. A few hands later I said I would raise if I got the hammer (72 off suit) I look down at A2 and raised and said I had to stick to my word - Jason called. Flop is 97X. I bet and Jason raises me $2. I folded and Jason showed his JQ bluff….this gets me on partial tilt. The very next hand I get QT and limp in. The flop is Q44. I check and Jason bets 60 cents - I raise to $1.60 and he reraises another $1….At this point I think he’s going for the bluff again but if we both have queens, my ten kicker could possibly be best…without really thinking it through I push all in….to my surprise he calls…and flips over AA. I don’t improve and Jason wins the biggest pot of the night.

I had $2.20 left and was on ultra tilt…so I just put it in blind on the next hand….turned out I had 88 but lost the hand. The big wiener of the night was Dwayne followed by Jason.  Bad poker….but still a fun night.
