Professional Poker Players

When it comes to poker endorsements, poker pros are known to really get “into” their sponsors – more so than in, say, sports.

Consider this comparison between the two – the sports industry and the online gambling industry: Tiger Woods endorses Nike. He gets a huge paycheck for putting on Nike when he plays, and Nike bets that the added exposure given to the shoe that Tiger is wearing will increase their net sales. How often, though, will you find Tiger working behind a counter at the Nike store?

When it comes to poker pros, though, they not only “lend” their name to online poker rooms, they actually play there, too. And are on hand to answer advanced poker questions and offer poker tips upon request. Not to mention actively promoting their chosen homes whenever they find themselves playing in live tournaments.

They literally work – I mean play for the man.

Here then is a snapshot of the industry’s top poker players and the spots they call home.

Poker Pros: Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer

Full Tilt Poker‘s members can access their library of advanced poker lessons written by poker’s best players. And if you have questions, you can also chat with the pros at the table or in this online poker room’s pro chat session. Better still, you can “sit” down with any of their top pros and try to beat ‘em.

Poker Pros: Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, Joe Hachem, Bertrand Grospellier, Greg Raymer and newcomer Joe Cada.

How fitting. Chris Moneymaker was the first person to become a world champion by qualifying at an online poker site – when he won a WSOP bracelet in 2003. Joe Cada, another one of PokerStars‘ pro players – won the latest WSOP round in 2009 and, like Moneymaker, broke some world records by doing so as the youngest champion ever. Whatever PokerStars is doing (and that’s a lot), they’re doin’ right.

Poker Pros: Chris Moorman, Amit Makhija, Zachary Clark, Dani Stern, and of course, legendary Doyle Brunson himself.

Doyle Brunson impact on the poker community is legendary. Credited with being on of the forward thinkers that introduced Texas Hold ‘em to the masses, Brunson’s unerring eye continues by shining down – this time on some of the poker industry’s newest up and comers, which he showcases on his site. Brunson’s on a mentoring mission – and by the looks of Moorman, Makhjia, Clark and Stern’s stellar poker activities as of late, Doyle clearly has a nose for talent.
